Crazy Weather....

Did everyone survive the crazy wind storm yesterday? We were very lucky and did not have any damage to our house or cars. My parents have a new skylight in there carport - luckily the branch that created it did not hit my mom's car. There were a lot of trees and power lines down around us and we are still without power (meaning we will probably lose everything in our refrigerator), but overall we are doing well. I would love to hear how everyone else is doing, or if you have any crazy stories from yesterday.

Thankfully, our power kicked back on around 2:30pm today! Matt didn't have to go to work because the bank never got power back...so he spent the day cleaning up the debris from the yard (nothing absolutely major). It really makes you appreciate what the hurricane victims have dealt with, right?!

All of the Sharfes are still without power as of this morning. Mike has spent the last couple days working on ridding the yard of tree limbs, leaves and other miscellaneous debris. (Can't figure out where in the heck some of that stuff came from!)

This morning, a Rumpke truck will haul away the contents of both our refrigerators, as I'm sure it will be for some of you. ...ever wonder if Kroger has anything to do with the rate at which power is being restored to our kitchen appliances? hahaha

Oh, by the way... Meemaw and Papaw have decided to drive to Indy this morning to stay with Jeff and Belinda until the power returns to Florence. If you need to reach him, call Jeff's house.

You said it mom, no power, no food....it reminds me of when I went to Louisiana a few years ago after hurricane Rita!

Our power was turned back on last night. We don't have any food either (or at least none that I would eat) and every restaraunt in sight has a long wait. We have minimal debris to clean up and we're glad that someone's tree didn't take out the new deck. I'm glad to hear that everyone's safe.
